Trades Assistant


About The Role
Ventia have been engaged by the DJCS (Department of Justice and Community Safety) to provide integrated Facility Management services incorporating planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance services, ad hoc services, and soft services including cleaning, ground, pest, and waste streams.

The Trades Assistant will play a key role in the team and operate across the Barwon Precinct (Lara, VIC region) of facilities for planned, reactive, remedial and ad-hoc maintenance activities across the sites.

We are also seeking Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC technicians, Carpenters and Painters to support these facilities.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Participate in a multiskilled team for delivery of high quality facility management and maintenance services
  • Complete planned maintenance activities across multiple assets associated with large facilities
  • Complete reactive maintenance activities across the sites in line with completion timeframes
  • Assist Electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Painters or other Trade qualified employees with completing time critical maintenance, repairs, or minor projects
  • Work order management for all works completed within required timeframes
  • High standards across compliance and driving safety, health, environment, and quality in your work.

About You: 
You will have experience as a Trades Assistant within large facilities ideally working in a time critical environment with a focus on planned and reactive maintenance.

You will also possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in time critical rectification and reporting  
  • Capability in maintaining scheduled work plans
  • Competence in a team environment
  • Desire to learn and complete minor training packages as needed
  • A current unrestricted drivers’ licence
  • Be able to complete and pass a National Police Check and Medical
  • Be able to evidence full covid vaccinations

Nice to have:

  • EWP - Scissor and boom lift licence
  • Working at Height
  • Forklift ticket
