Joel is an experienced entrepreneur and business leader with 15 years of experience in investment banking and financial services. Most recently he was the Head of Equity Derivatives Trading at Citigroup for Australia and New Zealand. He was previously the Founder and CEO of IIT Capital, a start-up proprietary trading firm. Joel is an advocate for flexible work because it lowers the barriers to enter the labour market - by removing the impediments that would otherwise exclude large parts of our community from accessing these opportunities. Joel believes meaningful work is a fundamental human right - it makes us feel as if we belong in our community and that we contribute to it. Working flexibly enables Joel to maintain a better connection with his kids. They're still at an age when they like Dad hanging around (and we all know this phase won’t last long!) Joel has signed up for his first ultra-marathon at the start of 2019. With a passion for endurance sports, Joel loves a good challenge.
