Payroll Officer

We are the dark horse, the next big thing in the telco world and due to an internal promotion we are looking for an experienced payroll officer to join our existing team of high performers. 

We need a brilliant operator who can multi-task and work with various teams within the business to keep things running smoothly and in an efficient way!
   
In this role you will be carrying out the following: 

    • End to end processing of Fortnightly pay cycle
    • Payroll calculations for termination pays, increases, retrospective payments, annual leave and LSL provisions/accruals
    • Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries
    • Update and maintain database with New Starters, Leave, Work patterns and general work flows
    • Interpreting awards/agreements and contracts in relation to overtime, shift allowances etc
    • Preparation and payment of Payroll Tax and WorkCover end of month liability and journal and also responsible for end of year reconciliation of same
    • To provide payroll journal template in required format to upload into GL
    • Preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders as well as statutory reporting 
    • General payroll administration – for example, preparation and sorting of information to be processed each pay run, maintain the payroll inbox, update and maintain Payroll/HR records

What you need to bring to the table:
 
Along with your brilliant communication skills and energetic approach to work you will need to have worked in an environment that payrolls at least up to 1000 people, ideally across the retailing and white collar industries. Exposure to overtime and time sheeting and significant exposure working in Connx and Meridian will be key to you success.

  • At least 5 years expeirnce in a similar role
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven numerical and data entry skills
  • Strong understanding of ATO & OSR legislation
  • Proven ability to handle confidential details and sensitive conversations in a mature and capable manner
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • The ability to work across various teams 
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • A Flexible, energetic and passionate approach

This role could be suited to an individual who is either currently studying HR and wanting exposure to the operational side of payroll and Human Resources, or a person who has this experience and wants to work in a friendly, exciting environment where you are never idle.
