About you / the role

Energetic, passionate and highly organised with a passion for Marketing, you will work with internal and external stakeholders to design sponsorship strategies and marketing plans aligned with business objectives to maximise commercial growth.

This is an exciting role working with a well-known brand and one of the largest sporting properties in Australia. This is a role which needs an excellent relationship manager, with strategic thinking skills, strong marketing and commercial background and a hands-on personality. If you love building strong relationships, meeting new people, developing partnerships and delivering marketing activations to drive commercial outcomes, this is great opportunity to work with a well-known brand in a fast paced environment.

In this role you will:

  • Develop the sponsorship marketing plan for the business and implement activation plans to grow commercial revenues
  • Work with agency partners and internal stakeholders to develop and deliver new and creative customer centric programs, events and communications
  • Be responsible for driving strategic, long-term partnerships with our sponsorship group
  • Work with key sponsorship programs and partners including our high profile motorsport relationship with DJR Team Penske and the Shell V-Power Racing Team, the Supercars and Geelong Football Club
  • Be proactive in initiating and driving joint marketing programs and delivering mutually beneficial outcomes to our sponsorship partners and Viva Energy
  • Develop partner programs and frameworks maximising revenues across all possible channels
  • Establish yearly objectives of each partnership, key KPI’s and provide ongoing reporting / tracking against objectives with measurement of ROI for specific activities
  • Continually monitor and review partner benefits and pro-actively push ideas to partners to most effectively utilise and deliver against set objectives
  • Take a lead role in identifying and developing relationships with potential sponsors and partners and lead commercial negotiations
  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement key sponsorship and marketing brand programs and activations

Your experience

  • Marketing or Sales professional with at experience in commercial roles
  • Experience in Sponsorship Management, Business Development or Commercial Marketing
  • Professional attitude with good communications skills and the confidence to converse with senior decision makers
  • Proactive and a self-starter, you look for opportunities to make a difference that will provide commercial value and drive customer loyalty
  • Proven track record in Marketing Communications including PR, Promotions, Media Buying, Brand Communications, Digital & Social Media Marketing
  • Exceptional management and delivery of project plans, budgets, timelines and briefing documents
  • Ability to forge strong relationships internally and externally at all levels including with customers, agencies, suppliers and partnership focal points
  • Proven experience in delivering integrated activations with measurable outcomes
  • Demonstrated strategic commercial mindset and creative thinking to solve business issues
  • Results driven with the ability to work under pressure in order to meet multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • You have strong presentation and consulting skills and work effectively with others and on your own
  • Experience in motorsport sponsorship is an advantage but not essential
  • The ability to travel and work weekends if required is mandatory
