Telstra’s HSE Department lead the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) strategy for Telstra’s employees and stakeholders, and are taking courageous steps to manage HSE risks and build a sustainable future. We are on the hunt for a Team Manager, Environment to provide professional environmental management advice to effectively implement management systems, field processes, and provide specialist advice on environmental risks.
Reporting into the General Manager, HSE Telstra Operations, and leading a team of like-minded professionals, this pivotal position is integral in providing HSE business partnering for the Telstra Operations Lines of Business. In addition, this role will drive consolidated governance reporting programs to Lines of Business management teams, risk-steering committees and Corporate HSE.
You will be challenged with applying HSE and environmental solutions to an extensive network of unique and geographically diverse, complex receiving sites, and work with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders to determine sustainable programs of work.
Your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with 5 – 10 years’ experience managing a team of Environment or Industrial Hygiene professionals coupled with extensive holistic experience in field investigation, remediation experience, licencing, and engineering project management from an environments and HSE perspective.
Along with your expert-level influencing and stakeholder management skills, you will have specialist knowledge on specific programs of work particularly dealing with lead, asbestos, and hydrocarbon management. The successful candidate will hold a Formal tertiary qualifications in environment or industrial hygiene, e.g. degree or post graduate studies and ideally, qualifications in Health and Safety or Risk Management.
