Telstra’s Networks team are responsible for the end-to-end planning, design, engineer, build, integration, change, implementation, and lifecycle management of Telstra’s networks and products across fixed, wireless and media. We design and deploy the networks that connect Australia domestically and with the world, and we create value added services for our customers.
With more than a century’s experience in the industry, the Networks team knows a thing or two about keeping Australia connected. We compete across all telecommunications markets throughout Australia, connecting more than 5.7 million retail fixed line services, 17.2 million mobile services and 3.4 million fixed retail broadband services – along with our digital media portfolio.

We work closely with our Chief Technology Office, product, and operational teams, to design and integrate new technology solutions into our networks. About the Networks Technology Program
Our new 12-month accelerated program offers top technical university graduates a unique, hands-on environment to learn, grow and build their career towards becoming one of our deep technology experts and thought leaders. With intakes twice a year, the Networks Technology Program is designed to build momentum aligned to our future technology vision. The program offers an amazing opportunity to develop and fast-track your technology career at Telstra.
Engineering in Networks involves identifying and implementing emerging technologies to continually deliver world firsts, as well as building on our considerable technology credibility. Our engineers represent Telstra in the development of industry technology standards across the world – and if that’s not a mighty enough task, they’re also planning, designing and building infrastructure on a phenomenal scale you won’t find anywhere else.
What will I be working on?
With two to three rotations over 12 months, you will specialise in a technology discipline with a pre-set development program. You will have the opportunity to work on Telstra’s world-class network solutions and products. For example, we’re testing 5G along with other emerging technologies to ensure we’re at the forefront of innovation. You’ll gain invaluable exposure to experts, innovation projects and accelerated learning experiences over the course of the program.
What do we look for in a graduate?
You’ll be degree qualified in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Systems, or in Network and Communications.
An interest programming and coding will also be highly regarded.
