Micro-Optimisation Senior Specialist


Working within our Consumer & Small Business team (C&SB), Digital Optimisation team will drive digital insights, formulate CX requirements, implement business improvements; and optimise digital capabilities to meet our growth objectives. Projects can span across customer journey analysis, conversion rate optimisation, data analytics and implementation, data visualisation, running experiments to deliver CX and growth.

About the role

The Micro-Optimisation Senior Specialist will create actionable insights that improve Telstra’s Digital Channels performance - from both a customer and commercial perspective (Digital Engagement, Digital Customer Experience, Digital Sales Mix/Volume, Digital Service Mix/Volume).

  • Grow digital sales and service by using insights to improve acquisition, conversion and retention. You will oversee the continued growth of our digital capabilities and source new data and capabilities to create contextual and personalised experiences
  • Provide high quality analytics, product insights and automated reporting using Tableau, Adobe, Optimizely, GA etc.,
  • Using a suite of data analytics tools and resources, uncover a deep strategic understanding of customer behaviour at the initiative, campaign, customer journey or mission level
  • Consult and work closely with our stakeholders to understand their needs and translate this into a roadmap of channel optimisation activity
  • Apply HCD principles to design and optimise omnichannel customer journeys using tools like Salesforce IS

About you

  • 5+ years’ experience working with data to solve digital/marketing and/or business problems
  • Experience in designing and running digital experiments (building hypothesis, running A/B tests, CRO)
  • SQL database management and maintenance skills
  • Experience in leveraging an array of web analytics and reporting platforms e.g. Salesforce tools, Adobe Site Catalyst, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Test & Target, Google Analytics, Tableau or similar, Medallia etc.
  • Experience working with digital marketing channels (SEO/SEM/Display/eDM etc), tag management tools (GTM, DTM or other) and data layer implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and executing campaign audiences, coupled with experience in marketing automation and DMPs.
  • Extensive experience in database engineering, application architecture, ETL processes and integration tools (e.g. SQL, SAS, Power BI etc) for data extraction and manipulation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
