Grounds & Maintenance


We currently have a great opportunity to join our state of the art Retirement Community as our onsite Environmental Maintenance Officer. Stockland Newport, our newest 125 unit vertical village, will eventually be home to over 15 residents and you will be kept on your feet assisting across a variety of maintenance and administration tasks ensuring the continued comfort, safety and happiness of our valued residents. This is your chance to be part of a close knit team in a brand new village that has recently opened in the past three months.

About the Role

This is a permanent part time role working Monday to Friday doing 30.4 hours per week.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Adherence to Stockland’s Operational Risk and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Administration relating to the village operations
  • Managing the building defect period and liaising with all contractors.
  • Driving compliance for all preventative maintenance schedules
  • Ensuring all communal areas are tidy and well-maintained.
  • Daily opening and closing of common areas
  • Housekeeping duties as needed
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with residents and their families, through delivery of outstanding service
  • Maintaining high presentation of the village surrounds
  • Identify and report any hazards or safety issues
  • Minor gardening and cleaning and tidying of common areas
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required

About You

You will be a reliable and personable individual looking for a flexible hands-on role where you can make a positive difference to our residents.

  • Good communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently
  • Ability to prioritise work schedules
  • Ability to show initiative, discretion and judgement in carrying out assigned duties
  • Alignment to Stockland values and culture
  • Basic computer literacy and experience of MS Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Willingness to be a team player and support other team members
  • Be confident interacting and communicating with a wide variety of people
