Engineering Manager - Pacific

We have an exciting and newly created role within our IT business for a talented Engineering Manager for the Pacific region with a focus on Secure Power projects. You will have the opportunity to become actively involved in supporting bids for large, multi-national accounts, with a focus on critical buildings and data centres across Australia and New Zealand. You will develop and manage an effective, responsive and credible support function to internal teams. You will be responsible for driving a high-performance culture within the team to produce best in class submissions, achieving consistent competitive bids.


Selective specific activities will include:

  • Qualify and manage and effectively distribute workload, ensure consistent standards across all pre-sales engineering and process disciplines
  • Support Sales team, enabling their complete focus on customer facing time
  • Drive consultant engagement and Schneider Electric prescription
  • Drive the Assessment lead sales initiative supporting new sales and services 
  • Support the execution team to deliver high quality and highly rated customer satisfaction projects


We believe that success in this role will require the following:

  • Strong people leadership, results driven focus and a proven track record of quickly achieving outstanding results 
  • Electrical, mechanical, BMS, DCIM & data centre physical infrastructure design experience is essential, as is strong sales and pre-sales management
  • An understanding of the IT ecosystem, specifically ‘what is happening in the rack’ and at ‘the Edge’ is advantageous
  • Collaborative with ability to coordinate teams from various organisations to achieve desired outcomes
  • Disruptive mindset that can challenge the status quo with the customer in mind


Our preferred candidate will have strong commercial sensibility, the ability to influence decision makers, strong people leadership skills including IT pre-sales across different locations, business process and cadence framework. High motivation levels, exceptional communication skill and impressive experience within the Engineering and IT landscape will see you recognised as a trusted advisor.  The ability to think on your feet, whilst consulting and leading a successful team is also essential.
