Technical Business Analyst – Commodities and Global Markets

If you’re an experienced Technical Business Analyst, then our newly-created opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst to join the Central (Strategy) Division of our Commodities and Global Markets Group will see you work on a program of resolution planning to ensure that we conform with new regulatory requirements.   This is a full time position, although consideration will be given to an initial 2 year maximum term arrangement.

In this key role, you will be involved in all aspects of recovery and resolution planning for a complex, global business.  This includes establishing processes to meet prudential regulatory expectations, compiling and analysing large financial data sets to formulate conclusions and present insights effectively to senior management.

You will be responsible for preparing detailed financial reporting, including scenario analysis, for businesses and operational support areas, and building processes for new management and regulatory reporting by working closely with subject matter and source system experts.  You will need to challenge assumptions and create robust procedures and controls for timely and accurate reporting, and assist in writing corresponding technical process documentation.

You’ll need to be proficient with using analytical software to complete rigorous analysis for complex problems and be confident in collaborating with multiple technology and business aligned teams.  Experience with capital management and other prudential regulatory metrics will be highly regarded.

To be considered, you’ll need to demonstrate at least 2 years' experience within the financial services sector.  An aptitude and strong interest in consistently improving existing processes and increasing automation is sought. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, experience with data preparation and visualisation tools, for example Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, as well as a tertiary qualification in a mathematics, engineering, finance, econometrics or other quantitative discipline will be required. You will also possess the ability and strong desire to solve complex problems and manage large data sets and be able to build strong working partnerships with key stakeholders.

To apply, please submit a covering letter and concise resume as one Word or PDF-formatted document.  To include your cover letter, please insert an additional page into the front or back of your resume and upload your updated resume in your Profile page. This is so that we receive the relevant documents for this position.  Please note that applications submitted without the required documentation, will not be considered.
