Senior Manager, Content Strategy - 12 month maternity leave contract


Are you a content specialist with a passion for creating engaging, omni-channel marketing experiences for customers? We are seeking an experienced content strategist to drive our content agenda for Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services marketing team.

As an integral part of the marketing function, you will guide and advocate our content strategy across Macquarie’s retail banking channels, which include Personal Banking, Wealth Management and Business Banking. You’ll work with our channel marketing teams to ideate and develop content plans that align to our overarching content, marketing and business strategies and play a crucial role in ensuring our messaging in market aligns to our brand strategy and customer value propositions. Your role will involve end-to-end project management of strategic pieces of thought leadership from ideation through to execution and distribution – across a range of mediums including video, written and digital. On a day to day basis you will work closely with colleagues who are subject matter experts across creative design, performance marketing, digital and data analytics to optimise our approach to content to suit a variety of distribution channels and use cases. You’ll be just as confident designing compelling content in long form, as you are in short form.

You will also collaborate with senior business stakeholders to ensure our content engages and inspires both B2B and B2C audiences. This may involve designing content experiences that break down complex topics in interesting and relatable ways, to more clearly articulate the value proposition of our products and services.  You will also be required to work with external content agencies to brief and review the pieces they create.

You will possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail and demonstrated delivery skills across a range of media. Preferred candidates will have proven experience as a content strategist with a similar-sized organisation. However, we will also consider candidates with +5 years’ experience developing financial services content, either from a journalism or corporate communications background. A tertiary qualification in media and communications and/or finance, economics or commerce is preferable, as you will be required to ideate and edit content on these topics for informed audiences. As video is an increasingly important channel of communication for our stakeholders and thought leaders, demonstrated experience in this medium – from an ideation and scripting perspective – is preferable.  

You will have a track record of being a strong team player with a proven ability to build deep collaborative relationships. A demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines and manage comprehensive approvals processes is preferable.
