Java DevOps Engineer


Macquarie is looking for an experienced Java DevOps Engineer to join the Technology team supporting the Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) business unit. This is a great opportunity for a developer with strong technical and communication skills to deliver in a challenging and dynamic environment.

In this position there will be a focus on technical upgrades across a large range of applications supporting the business. You will manage multiple deliverables with a pragmatic approach and coordinate with teams across the organisation.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • delivery and support of in-house developed and vendor application solutions
  • taking ownership of change through the full lifecycle, from requirements to implementation
  • hands on application development, testing and implementation of agreed designs
  • working with broad range of technical and business people to provide the optimal solution
  • an evolving DevOps culture gives you ownership of your solutions/applications.

You are a Java DevOps Engineer with 5+ years’ experience in devops or development, ideally within the financial services industry.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Java application development experience
  • experience with Oracle or MSSQL database
  • experience with CI / CD tools
  • exposure / experience with AWS
  • Windows or UNIX scripting
  • experience with integration technology such as JMS, Camel or webMethods
  • a team player with excellent communication skills.
  • analytical thinking and problem solving capability
  • asset management experience would be highly regarded.
