Internal Communications Manager


We are seeking an Internal Communications Manager to join the Strategy and People Enablement team, supporting the Financial Management Group (FMG) and Risk Management Group (RMG). Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with senior level stakeholders to identify their needs and offer proactive advice and solutions
  • Managing and/or mentoring more junior team members to develop their knowledge and skills in communications
  • Partnering with internal clients in FMG and RMG to understand their objectives and craft messages and communication plans to help achieve those objectives
  • Developing communication strategies to support programs and drive strategic initiatives
  • Educating and advising staff on communications best practice
  • Driving innovation in content, channels and communications approach
  • Working closely with the strategy and change, learning & development, HR, and talent teams to create coordinated programs of work
  • Partnering with the Project Management Office to support communication plans for large projects
  • Ongoing engagement of senior stakeholders

About you

To be successful, you will be a strong team player with a proven ability to build deep working relationships and influence colleagues and clients of all levels. You will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. You will also:

  • Be curious, always asking, “What’s new,” and “How can we do this better”
  • Be generous with your knowledge, time, and feedback
  • Be bold, seeing challenges as opportunities that can be overcome as a team
  • Have experience in a similar role, preferably in a large, complex organisation
  • Have tertiary qualifications, preferably in marketing, communications or a similar field
  • Have outstanding planning and organisation skills

The Financial Management Group provides financial, tax and treasury services to all areas of Macquarie. The group is focused on providing strategic analysis and advice to Macquarie's businesses and senior management, managing Macquarie's funding, liquidity and capital position, ensuring Macquarie continues to meet regulatory and compliance obligations and managing Macquarie's corporate communications and investor relations.
