About the role

Macquarie's Banking and Financial Services business ('BFS') is transforming and growing – we are looking for a dedicated Banking Specialist to join us on our mission. 

As one of three divisions in BFS, Macquarie Personal Banking is dedicated to building the largest areas of opportunity in the Australian market for mortgages, deposits and credit cards. We have embarked on a period of significant growth, and are building our Direct Sales team which fulfils Macquarie Bank's Residential Lending and Personal Banking product set through a variety of channels.

As a Banking Specialist you will consistently deliver exceptional client service and relish working in a diverse, flexible and fast paced head office team environment, based in our award winning Shelley Street offices in Barangaroo, Sydney.

Working as part of a supportive, high performing Sales team you will be responsible for:

  • qualifying leads and referrals via phone/email/face-to-face and proactively converting these opportunities to residential loan applications
  • completing an assessment of each customer’s needs and servicing capacity, in order to proceed to a loan application, with all necessary notes and documentation
  • providing ongoing customer contact and support through the application process, ensuring customers have an exceptional experience
  • taking ownership of customer queries and using your domain knowledge and experience to overcome challenges and solve problems
  • providing feedback and influencing product innovation, sales strategy and sales best practice
  • Developing and maintaining Referrer relationships

About you

You will have:

  • experience in financial services and a sound understanding of personal banking products, specifically mortgages
  • experience in a sales based environment
  • experience in understanding and communicating complex issues in a clear and easy to understand manner
  • motivation to achieve both individual and team targets
  • a collaborative approach, and commitment to delivering an exceptional experience to customers
