Automation Developer – Java / Python / Splunk / DevOps

As an experienced developer you will join our newly formed Monitoring Automation team to execute on key components of the Infrastructure Technology strategy.

This is a great opportunity for a developer with strong technical and interpersonal skills to deliver in a challenging and dynamic environment.

The role includes:

  • developing custom applications on the Splunk platform to meet Monitoring Automation requirements
  • developing integrations for a variety of disparate workflow, alerting and monitoring tools to enable end to end automation including auto scaling & auto healing
  • performing as a key contributor in the installation, configuration and customisation of products which aim to reduce manual effort across the operational landscape
  • educating other developers within team in best practices of on boarding to Macquarie’s AWS environment.

We anticipate that to excel in this role you will be degree qualified in Computer Science or similar and have experience of working in dynamic environments developing complex and cutting edge solutions.

You will be able to articulate complex design patterns and adapt solutions to the offerings available to meet deadlines.

Key skills for the role are likely to be:

  • Java application development experience
  • Python development experience
  • exposure to Splunk
  • experience with a range of DB offerings (MSSQL, Oracle)
  • experience with CI / CD tools
  • experience with AWS
  • Windows / UNIX scripting
  • a team player with excellent communication skills.
  • analytical thinking and problem solving capability.
