M&A Transaction Services - Manager

About the Opportunity

Over the past few years we have played a critical role in helping our clients successfully undertake some of Australia’s leading M&A and Capital Market transactions.

As we are seeing increasing deal activity and have a strong pipeline; we are seeking an M&A Transaction Services Manager to join our team in Perth. This challenging and rewarding role will see you help your clients execute complex transactions through pre-acquisition analysis, financial due diligence, forecast reviews and leveraging your general financial analysis skills.

You will become a key leader in the Mergers & Acquisitions team at Deloitte and be expected to work as part of a full service Deloitte diligence team, liaising and building relationships with financial advisors/investment banks, legal advisors, corporate lenders and investors on an agreed scope of work.

Your clients will include leading Australian private and listed corporates, global enterprises, private equity firms and Government.

About the Work

To enable your clients to execute on acquisitions, takeovers, mergers, divestments, capital raisings and business optimisation, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the target business and its drivers
  • Analyse information memoranda, business plans and publicly available information on the target business
  • Review historical trading, quality of earnings, cash flow, working capital, net debt, capital expenditure, forecasts and underlying assumptions
  • Assess the adequacy of financing structures including review of agreements and consideration of limits, terms and covenants
  • Evaluate potential synergies and post-merger integration
  • Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for senior management and boards
  • Mentor and coach a team of high-performing and passionate practitioners

About You

A highly motivated and talented performer, looking to move to one of the leading Transaction Services practices and with a focus on building teams and collaboration, your skills and experience will include:

  • At least 5 years of experience in performing financial due diligence assignments in a transaction environment or similar complex financial assignments; or business combination experience gained through the audit of acquisitive businesses
  • It is required that the candidate’s applicable experience includes: financial due diligence or M&A analysis and report writing, identification of issues and factors impacting valuations, financial statement interpretation and analysis, strong consulting or advisory experience
  • Strong familiarity with the broader deal-oriented process and environment
  • Leadership capability to collaborate with senior executives and mentor a team
  • Post graduate qualification (or in process of obtaining) e.g. CA, CFA, Masters in Applied Finance or MBA
