Manager - People Operations


Our People Connect team is currently transforming and as such, we are looking for an experienced HR professional to lead and manage the team to deliver on operational activities in scope for the People Connect function, whilst delivering an exceptional customer experience.

The role will see you manage a large team in our employee contact centre driving best practice and exceptional customer service, fostering a customer focused culture. You will also drive transformation as part of our off-shoring activities and act as a subject matter expert in relation to appropriate processes within the function and contribute to the improvement of the function and drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes and engaging with stakeholders on a regular basis.

Accountabilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Provide people leadership through coaching, on the job training and performance development of team members
  • Engage with People Connect Leadership team in talent reviews and prepare succession plans
  • Manage the development and selection of the People Connect team
  • Manage the delivery of HR operational activities deemed in scope for People Connect, in accordance with agreed service standards
  • Manage the dissemination of information of any legislative changes to the team and ensure that processes are compliant
  • Manage appropriate resourcing levels to support the delivery of the required in scope BAU processes and ensure that the team is scalable in the event of large scale projects
  • Act as a point of escalation and resolution for recruitment and People & Culture specific enquiries escalated to the team for resolution
  • Identify and recommend continuous business process improvement of People Connect
  • Reporting and analysis on timings and trends of processes to ensure that the team are meeting agreed SLAs
  • Support P & C initiatives and manage implementation of any new processes
  • Manage the delivery of additional projects that impact the People Connect team.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in managing HR operational functions within a Shared Service environment
  • Demonstrated experience in the administration of recruitment/onboarding processes
  • Working knowledge of Employment Contracts globally, the Right to work and processing of onboarding documentation
  • HR compliance practices and procedures
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organising skills
  • Proven change management skills
  • Understanding of relevant workforce-related federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with moderate complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems
  • Strong communication and customer interaction skills along with a strong team player ethic and ability to work across organisational boundaries and locations

Desirable

  • Knowledge of working with workflow tools and other HR related systems
  • Functional experience with Workday
