We have opportunities for an Electrical Mechanical/Fitter to join our Power Infrastructure project team based in Port Melbourne. Reporting to the Works Manager, your responsibilities will include ensuring that all procedures are followed to ensure a safe and accident free work place whilst providing the necessary skills to provide planned and reactive maintenance on power assets.

As such, you will possess previous substation construction and maintenance experience within the VESI as well as excellent problem solving capabilities providing solutions to often complex and technical problems which require immediate attention. The technician must confidently analyse all potential problem solutions and select the most appropriate solution to meet client expectations and community health obligations.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Substation Construction and Maintenance and associated tasks
  • Ensure job compliance with all OHS, Environmental and Quality procedures and policies
  • Undertake and participate in job and plant hazard identification, and incident notifications
  • Attend and have active involvement in team meetings and toolbox meetings
  • Lead and/or assist in the completion of a job through mobile field computing system
  • Installation and augmentation of major assets/plant/installations

To be successful in this role you will have a VESI passport and up to date VESI training as a Substation Fitter. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to exude customer service qualities.
