Regional Tax Automation Lead

The Regional Tax Compliance Automation Lead is a strategic position working closely with KPMG member firms across the Asia Pacific region, part of a regional Tax Compliance team. Reporting to an ASPAC Global Compliance solutions leader this  role will be responsible for leading the planning, design, adaptation and delivery of compliance technology solutions that will streamline and differentiate our capabilities in tax compliance.

Objectives of the role:

  • Drive innovation and integration across our tax compliance practices in the region, initially on a 3 year fixed term basis.
  • Work with the leader of the ASPAC  Global Compliance solutions team to assist with the  transformation of our tax compliance practices across the region through the use of technology that can facilitate new business models and drive operating efficiencies
  • Drive efficiency and best practice in use of technology in the delivery of tax compliance across the region to streamline process and increase consistency of client experience across member firms

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement KPMG's tax compliance innovation strategy across the Asia Pacific region
  • Understand the needs of our tax compliance practices across the region, understanding the scope of compliance services offered, current state of maturity and technology solutions currently in use
  • Design a tax compliance technology roadmap for the development and implementation of a market leading solution to transform our tax compliance capabilities and business models across the region
  • Work closely with the global tax technology team and our  Global Compliance Solutions team and to act as a ‘bridge’
  • Explore and assess potential enterprise technology solutions that could be leveraged to standardise, streamline and differentiate our tax compliance offering across the region
  • Define the best practice technology solution to deliver on our innovation strategy in terms of functionality, future development and timings and commercials

In addition to these responsibilities, the ideal candidate will be able to support:

  • The positioning and branding of our tax Compliance and transformation offering across the region
  • Assist and educate our regional tax compliance teams in how to articulate/sell the value and implement the proposed technology enabled regional solution
  • Develop the tax technology skills of our regional tax compliance teams to best service our corporate clients
  • Working closely with the Tax Technology lead in the region

    What you will bring to the role:

  • In depth professional services technology experience and the data, whilst understanding of taxation processes would be useful it is not essential
  • Great enthusiasm for the increasing use of Data & Analytics and their ability to drive strategy and design
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to influence internal stakeholders within KPMG member firms.
