Manager - Superannuation Advisory

After a new challenge? KPMG’s Superannuation Advisory team offers tailor made solutions and advice to some of the largest superannuation funds in the country. A great opportunity is now available for a proactive Manager to join the fast paced Sydney group, based in the CBD.

With opportunities to build upon your existing knowledge and progress your consulting career, this role will enable you to increase your level of client engagement and provide you with the ability to work on a range of high profile advisory engagements. 

Engagements you can expect to work on will include key service provider tenders, benchmarking, product development and strategy, fund mergers, financial modelling, investment profiling and risk and compliance projects for superannuation fund clients and employers.  

Your Opportunity

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with partners and senior leaders to manage and execute a range of advisory engagements;
  • Conducting research and analysis including, review of material service providers, financial analysis and strategy;
  • Providing tailored solutions and preparing strategic advice for a range of clients and presenting to key stakeholders;
  • Client facing responsibilities, including helping prepare papers to be presented to the Trustee Boards of superannuation funds and C-suite Executives;
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver findings and explain results, identifying industry trends in a professionally considered and well-structured format within required timeframes;
  • Actively leveraging from existing networks within the broader superannuation industry and maintaining networks within KPMG;
  • Monitoring a number of target clients, assisting in the development and pursuit of new business opportunities as well as preparing proposals, tenders and supporting other members of your team;
  • Researching and conducting at least one internal technical training session each year; and
  • Interstate travel may be a requirement of the role.

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include: 

  • Proven superannuation experience in a consultancy firm, superannuation fund or wealth/platform provider, ideally with some experience in a superannuation product role;
  • A broad understanding of all areas of superannuation, encompassing compliance with relevant legislation (SIS Act, SG Act, Corporations Act and the Income Tax Legislation), regulator views (APRA, ASIC) and market practice;
  • Proven experience in product analysis, product development, or product management including ideally review of material service providers, financial analysis and strategy;
  • Strong project management capabilities;
  • Experience in supporting business development activities;
  • Strong problem-solving and critical analysis abilities with a positive ‘can do’ attitude;
  • Attention to detail coupled with excellent report writing skills and ability to decipher data trends;
  • Well-developed communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are a must;
  • Ability to manage and work with internal and external stakeholders to build strong working relationships; and
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification
