Manager - Policy Programs & Evaluation


Our Policy, Program & Evaluation (PP&E) practice in Canberra is looking for an exceptional candidate at the Manager level. Working in PP&E is a great way to contribute to our community.

We provide challenging work opportunities across a range of government and non-government clients, assisting them to achieve tangible and lasting change that supports our community. The projects we undertake include:

  • Strategic advice on policy, structural and governance reform
  • Policy and system reviews
  • Program reviews and evaluations
  • Business case and feasibility studies
  • Regulatory advisory and best practice administration of regulation

In PP&E you will work with clients across all areas of public policy, including Education; Health and Ageing; Human Services; Justice; Transport and Infrastructure; and Central Agencies. It’s important work that affects the lives of many Australians.

Your Opportunity

You will work across a variety of projects so you must enjoy stepping outside your comfort zone.  Your ongoing responsibilities as a part of the team will include:

  • Supporting a variety of exciting and dynamic engagements including, undertaking program and policy reviews, and advising on strategies to achieve policy objectives
  • Developing strong relationships with clients and maintaining relationships after engagements are completed
  • Supporting teams on client delivery and engagements

You will have the desire to further your skills and deliver exceptional outcomes; excellent verbal and written communication skills; well-developed analytical and numerical capabilities; and enjoy the face-to-face interaction that client work brings.

  • Prior experience working in environments such as a Professional Consulting firm or within Government or in the not-for-profit Sector across Australia
  • Demonstrated experience in a public policy environment, including, but not limited to, the policy areas outlined above
  • Strong interest in and commitment to continuing to develop your skills in these areas
  • Proven track record in contributing to and delivering projects successfully
  • Highly developed communication and reporting skills, including excellent analytical and research skills
  • Strong Stakeholder consultation skills and the ability to adapt, manage and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds 
  • Excellent teamwork
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably at postgraduate level or experience in a Social Policy or Service Delivery environment or other fields as relevant

You should also be an Australian Citizen or have the ability to obtain a government security clearance. We highly value applicants with an AGSVA security clearance.
