Within the broader KPMG Management Consulting team sits our successful Operations Advisory practice.  This team assists leading companies to identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its customer experiences and operations, whilst driving sustainable business improvement.  They draw on a combination of professional and talented individuals, powerful KPMG methodologies and global resources to meet the objectives of our clients. 

As Power & Utility clients continue to transform and advance with the relentless changes in customer expectations, technology and the regulatory environment, we are seeking an accomplished transformation and business operations specialist with deep experience in the electricity sector, to drive large-scale change programs where new and emerging technologies play a part in the transformation.

Your Opportunity

Working as an integral part of our Management Consulting team in Sydney, this role will be autonomous as a leader in driving growth and execution objectives across the Power and Utility clients with a specific focus on Electricity Transmission and Distribution businesses. 

Your role will include:

  • Successfully deliver client-based transformation and/or change programs in the Power and Utility sector.
  • A fundamental focus on winning work across the Power and Utility sector through outbound business development, practice positioning through thought leadership and leveraging across your current industry and service networks;
  • Exploiting opportunities to pitch innovative or value adding consulting engagements in response to market dynamics, such as regulatory change and emerging technologies advancements;
  • Being at the forefront of electricity sector innovation, developing a strong perspective on the likely disruptors to the market, how they impact our utility clients and how clients can most successfully address them; and  
  • Growing and developing a high performing Power & Utilities team, as well as transferring knowledge/skills to broader staff so as to flexibility to address sector needs.

How you're Extraordinary

  • Significant experience in leading business transformation program and or operational transformation programs in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution sector;
  • Previous experience working for a well-regarded Management Consulting firm or acting as the client sponsor in engaging and managing consultants on significant business transformation or operational improvement in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution sector;
  • Deep understanding of the transmission or distribution value chain, including network strategy and management, field operations, and customer services;
  • Strong understanding of global trends and initiatives in transmission, distribution and customer operations
  • Deep understanding of existing and emerging technologies utilised across network and customer operations;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and networking skills;
  • A strong track record as a results-oriented leader;
  • A proven track record in business and relationship development;
  • Strong structured problem solving and client service team leadership capabilities;
  • Demonstrated capability in developing team members both in work quality and in role modelling values aligned to KPMG’s;
  • A honest and ethical approach to business which will provide a natural fit with KPMG's values; and
  • A well-developed senior network within the Power and Utilities sector in Australia and NSW is preferable.
