KPMG’s R&D Advisory practice is a professional team assisting a public and private sector research organisations and companies to optimise their R&D portfolios. We work with universities, public research organisation and R&D active firms to plan and execute research and development activities, with a focus on helping facilitate greater collaboration across the different sectors. Our work covers research commercialization, industry and university research engagement, research strategies, spin-out company development amongst many other areas.

Your Opportunity

Working with clients inside universities, government, companies and publicly funded research organisations, your responsibilities as an Associate Director will include:

  • Developing relationships with clients and targets to gain an understanding of their R&D, and identify potential opportunities
  • Leading multiple engagements of varying size and complexity
  • Advising clients on complex matters
  • Producing well-researched opinions and advice
  • Providing guidance and mentoring to junior consultants

To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include:

  • Demonstrated strategic and innovative thinking skills with the ability to develop tailored solutions to address complex needs
  • Australian and/or other experience and expertise in university/publicly funded research
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining relationships at senior levels in the Australian higher education sector
  • Previous experience in a professional organisation that undertake research
  • Deep understanding of key issue associated with research commercialization and university/industry engagement
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to motivate and lead teams to achieving an outcome
