Working at Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) provides the opportunity to be involved in an industry leader in both the agriculture and mining industries. IPL is an international chemicals company, focusing on the manufacture of explosives and fertilisers for the mining and agriculture industries but also producing some niche industrial products.

As a Regional Business Manager you will be responsible for a selected group of Incitec Pivot Fertiliser (IPF) customers across a region, including developing the strategic direction of these customers, delivering key account management, EBIT and revenue targets.

The revenue of this portfolio is in the tens of millions in annual turnover and careful strategy development, planning, forecasting and logistics management will be important.

Duties

You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, managing and executing sales strategies for customers in line with IPF business goals and objectives
  • Delivering an endorsed strategic sales plan and translate this into footprint with clear measurable outcomes
  • Providing timely, accurate individual customer forecasting weekly and internal forecasting as required
  • Leveraging value add initiatives and IPL resources to drive greater engagement and offering with customers i.e. Nutrient Advantage / Loyalty program
  • Maintaining and developing business, influencing customer relationships with key senior business stakeholders
  • Upselling customers to IPF proprietary products
  • Establishing and maintaining a customer profile, including annual engagement plan
  • Owning customers debt management for customers including DSOs and overdue debt and drive finance initiatives to improve credit performance

You will be expected to know and understand the broader market dynamics and retail market landscape, maintain a profile with Industry Bodies whilst gathering and analyzing trends and reporting back into the business and sales team, be an integral part of the sales and marketing team by providing feedback and seeking out other opportunities as well as overseeing, and providing leadership and coaching to the account support team.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Senior Sales Professional (7-10years)
  • Strong commercial acumen and be business savvy
  • Outstanding planning, forecasting , account development and analysing skills
  • The ability to build and maintain long term relationships
  • Superior communication, influencing, presentation and negotiation skills at all levels (boardroom to farm)
  • Business Degree or equivalent preferred

You will be able to work across boundaries, hold people accountable, work autonomously and have resilience.
