Icon Water's Asset Strategy and Analytics Branch have a new opportunity available for a Strategic Asset Planner.

Icon Water is responsible for owning and operating Canberra’s network of water and wastewater infrastructure and assets including dams, reservoirs, water and sewerage treatment plants, water and sewerage pumping stations to ensure the delivery of safe drinking water and reliable sewerage services. About your role

Your role has responsibility for the operation and continuous improvement of the Asset Management System, the development and dissemination of asset strategies and the development of our 5 – 10 year investment plan.

Some of your key responsibilities but not limited to are:

  • As part of our team you will contribute to the operation and continuous improvement the Asset Management (AM) System (including AM policy, Strategic AM Plan, AM Plans, processes, performance monitoring and Review) based on ISO 5500X,
  • You will promote awareness of the Asset Management System across the business through training, presentations and mentorship.
  • You will develop, implement and review an asset performance indicator framework.
  • As part of our team you will lead the development of asset strategies to prepare for a range of potential future scenarios, analyse trade-offs between various outcomes and present strategies to the executive team for endorsement.
  • You will coordinate, consolidate investment plans across all assets portfolios, lead prioritisation process, communicate the process and review outcome in order to implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • You may lead selected, and contribute to, relevant strategic projects including development of documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, easily building and maintaining positive relationships
  • What are we looking for?

    Relevant tertiary qualifications (BE or BSc or similar) in asset strategy and investment planning.

    Experience in asset strategy development, investment planning, and asset management system operation.

    A working knowledge of ISO 5500X suite requirements and regulatory and legislative requirements in a utility

    Skills in project management, communication, facilitation and presentation.

    Demonstrated attributes in being flexible and achieving results.
