About the Role

AGL Macquarie have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor providing front-line support to power station Operations & Maintenance. You will minimise risk and improve site safety performance through your relationships and influence with key stakeholders.

Reporting to the H&S Business Partner AGL Macquarie, the Health and Safety Advisor is part of the Macquarie Health and Safety, Team and contributes to the overall success of AGL and AGL Macquarie.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Provision of specialist H&S advice and support to the Macquarie Business Unit, specifically Operations and Maintenance
  • Supporting the development, implementation and review of H&S Policy, systems and procedures at AGL Macquarie and delivering on allocated actions to support the achievement of the Macquarie, Group Operations and AGL HSE Action Plans
  • Actively participating in the AGL HSE and Group Operations HSE Teams, contributing to the development and implementation of business/ H&S initiatives and actions
  • Leading/ Coaching Visible Leadership activities across AGL Macquarie

About You

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in WHS Management, minimum Diploma / Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Previous experience in a dedicated OH&S advisory role, gained within complex heavy industrial plant environments (eg: power generation, mining, mineral / steel / chemical processing, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of risk management activities; including risk assessments, safety observations and the application of risk management principles to reduce high risk activities and minimise risk to workers.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting OH&S audits and inspections to identify hazards and provide solutions to minimise risk and improve safety performance. Analysis and interrogation of safety reporting to identify trends to further develop OH&S strategies
