Geotechnical Dams Engineer

Reporting to the Sydney Dams Team Leader, we have an opportunity for a Geotechnical/Dams Engineer to join our Sydney office.

This role will take responsibility for:

  • Undertake inspections inherent to dam safety review process
  • Deliver projects involving dam safety assessments of existing earth and concrete dams for local and inter-state clients
  • To build relationships with clients through successful project delivery
  • To collaborate with our geotechnical team and provide a link of services between our two delivery teams.
  • Manage small to medium projects through the delivery phase in accordance with the Aurecon methodology
  • Dam safety inspections and reporting to NSW Dam Safety Committee requirements

To be successful in this position you will have:

  • 5 to 10 years experience in geotechnical engineering – dams experience desirable
  • Experience in the management of small to medium scale projects
  • Sound ability to work collaboratively at both an internal and external, client-facing level
  • Proven technical engineering skill and knowledge of policy and regulatory requirements
  • Relevant technical qualifications combined with site experience
  • Demonstrable proven track record in delivering projects
  • Expertise in managing project risk (including quantification and advising project stakeholders) to the benefit of all project stakeholders (using common risk management techniques).
  • Ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing, in a variety of high-level, technical and business settings.
  • Ability to work within a small team to produce high quality and cost-effective results to tight deadlines in a demanding commercial environment.
