About the opportunity
 
We’re looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join the Capital Equipment Group within our VME team based in Brisbane. . As part of a diverse team that provides valuation and asset management advice primarily in relation to plant & equipment, you’ll work with your colleagues to deliver and review a wide range of valuations and financial modelling for strategic planning, transactions, tax, and financial reporting.
 
Working with a wide variety of clients, you’ll gain experience in understanding client issues and building client relationships. In our friendly, diverse, and collaborative environment, you’ll receive the support, formal learning and coaching you need to accelerate the career path you choose.
 
 
Your key responsibilities
 

  • Prepare valuation models and reports for various types of tangible fixed assets and plant and equipment asset classes
  • Travel throughout Australia with other team members to perform site inspections of major capital equipment assets
  • Prepare market research across various industries and asset types in order to estimate replacement costs and market values and to assess changes in technology
  • Analyse financial and other information in relation to our clients
  • Liaise with clients regarding business performance and prospects and understanding key valuation drivers
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client’s business
  • Use current technology and tools to provide asset management insights
  • Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment

 
Skills and attributes for success
 

  • Strong excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Ability to manage multiple commitments and stakeholders
  • Identify issues and propose strategies related to the valuation procedures executed

 
To qualify for the role you must have
 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Property, Commerce or similar
  • Prior corporate or professional services experience will be advantageous
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and a sound grasp of financial accounting.
  • Demonstration of interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Keen interest in plant and machinery with prior valuation, cost estimating, data analytics, and/or asset management experience being advantageous

 
The successful candidate must also be willing and able to travel, when necessary.
