M&A Consulting Manager (Integration & Separation)

About the Opportunity

You will play a key role in growing Deloitte’s M&A Integration and Separation practice while leveraging the broader Deloitte network to help the clients execute their M&A strategy. This opportunity will require you to link strategic and financial advice to tangible outcomes as you work directly with the most senior leaders within Australia’s market leading organisations.

You will be involved in a range of M&A projects including:

  • Supporting Corporate and Private Equity clients in the assessment of potential merger synergies and carve-outs, and stand-alone performance improvements
  • Assisting clients in understanding the true strategic and operational capability of acquisitions and investment companies
  • Planning and implementation of integration and separation projects as the result of M&A activity (including Day One readiness and execution)

In addition, as part of the M&A Integration and Separation team, you would also be involved with:

  • Financial analysis and modelling of the investment opportunity
  • Preparation of acquisition business cases for review by key stakeholders
  • Execution of the transaction, including the negotiation of Transitional Service Agreements

About You

We are looking for a high calibre executive with at least 5 years advisory/consulting experience, from tier 1 or 2 consultancy, boutique strategy consulting firm, strategy practice within Big 4, or the internal strategy function of a large corporate. You are likely to have a finance, accounting, economics or engineering background with a related post graduate qualification or are currently studying towards a CA, CFA or MBA.

You will also have:

  • Experience in performing commercial due diligence in a transaction environment
  • Familiarity with the broader deal-oriented process and environment
  • Highly developed project management skills, including a track record of delivering outstanding client service in compressed timeframes
  • Strong analytical and financial skills to work on complex financial transactions with limited supervision
  • Pragmatic commercial acumen – able to identify risks and develop solutions to manage those risks, with the ability and willingness to deal with ambiguity and change
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with senior executives across various business units
  • Strong interpersonal skills – a proven ability to work within a team of talented professionals – including working effectively to build and sustain relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Deep understanding of professional services organisations and their service offerings
  • Flexibility for domestic and international travel
