About the Opportunity

This role will see you advising our clients to evaluate and execute M&A transactions. Importantly you will play a key role in developing junior team members and raising the profile of the business in the Australian market.

Specifically the role will see you involved in:

  • A wide range of transactions including acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings
  • Cross border deals with blue-chip clients, private companies and private equity houses
  • Reviewing key deal documents (incl. Information Memorandums) and providing input into legal agreements
  • End-to-end project management of transactions including direct liaison with vendors, bidders and other deal stakeholders
  • Reviewing valuation materials and financial models
  • Managing the due diligence process including the data room and Q&A process
  • Negotiations of key transaction terms
  • Business development initiatives, both with the M&A Advisory Partners and via your personal networks

About You

You will ideally be able to demonstrate:

  • Circa 5+ years’ experience in a Mergers & Acquisitions environment, preferably in a lead M&A advisory role
  • Strong financial analysis skills (encompassing business valuations and financial modelling) and project management skills
  • Some leadership experience as you will be managing small project teams whilst playing a valuable mentorship role to the junior team and supporting their career development
  • An understanding of the Australian M&A environment (public market, private companies and private equity players)
  • A strong market presence and/or desire to build a profile within Melbourne’s mid-market M&A community
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other related field
  • Completed a post-graduate qualification (e.g. CA, CFA or MBA)
