Business Tax Technologist - Tax Management Consulting

g to disrupt and enhance technological change and advancement in everything we do. You’ll be responsible for providing technical expertise and compliance quality management, supporting the Workflow process & Optimization Lead and Business Operations Lead in ensuring the smooth running of the Business Operations team function.

Essentially, this role will shape the future of our business operations function as it grows and matures inside our organisation. As a Business Tax Technologist you will:

  • Oversee mapping and quality of client trial balance information to Deloitte Integrator chart of accounts
  • Oversee inclusion and quality of tax base information, based on client prepared information or Deloitte tax return workings, into Integrator
  • Determine recognition of temporary differences based on AASB 112, making appropriate classifications in Integrator for recognition outcomes
  • Working with clients to source correct information on occasion
  • Reconcile the Integrator outputs to existing client information, providing reasonable explanations for differences
  • Prepare transition notes for client service team noting particular accounting treatments, recognition outcomes, TB setup and other decisions made in the onboarding process
  • Actively contribute to the on-going training and capability development of the team including development of training materials, participation in regular knowledge transfer sessions, development of process checklists and controls as appropriate
  • Be a resource to client service teams for “gold standard” use of Integrator

About you:


Your demonstrated ability working with clients in various industries will be strong. Presence and confidence will see your success in this role while you manage upwards and downwards to ensure projects/work stays on track. Being passionate about change you’ll also have a strong desire to enhance existing processes and be able to communicate clearly innovative ideas, objectives and project goals with various stakeholders.

As this role is key to ensuring our firm delivers to our clients you’ll bring the following background, skills or experience:

  • Experience preparing tax provisions in commerce or large tax practice for large corporate entities
  • Experience extracting data from ERP systems to prepare tax provisions in WK Integrator software or similar software
  • Familiar with Australian accounting standards (or IFRS) and the disclosure requirements for the preparation of financial statements. In particular, a good working knowledge of AASB 112 (Tax accounting) is required.
