Manager – Business Partnering – Colonial First State

Financial Services (FS) partner with all areas of CommBank to provide specialist advice on financial management and strategy. CFS (Colonial First State) Finance supports the Senior Leadership Team of the CFS business under the Deputy CEO Office to manage and grow its superannuation and platform businesses.

In May 2020 the Bank announced the sale of 55% interest in the CFS business to KKR. The CFS business is currently working on a separation program with the expectation that the transaction will complete in first half of calendar 2021.

Due to internal secondment’s to support the separation process we are hiring a number of Managers within our Business Partnering Function for contracts running until June 2021. These roles play an integral part of a dedicated team that provides strategic and tactical financial leadership to support the CFS and CBA senior executives.

These roles will have emphasis on the areas including but not limited to management reporting, planning & forecasting, financial insights & analysis, expense management & analysis and decision support.

Do work that matters

These roles will cover a range of duties, including but not limited to the below:

Business Partnering:

  • Partner with the business to drive and implement initiatives critical to delivering the business strategy.
  • Work with the business unit in managing its day to day activities and decisions, supporting its overall strategy.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with your leadership teams, collaborate and be seen as a trusted strategic adviser to your business, delivering accurate and timely commercial insights on performance information to key internal and external audiences.
  • Support the business annual planning and ongoing forecasting processes, and deliver consolidated analysis, views and scenarios to the business.

Financial Control / Risk Management

  • Ensure integrity of financial data and reporting and maintain financial controls and relevant framework appropriate to the business. Adhere to the compliance of Group policies including Group Reconciliation Policy.
  • Ensure proper controls are in place and control testing is performed properly and in a timely manner to minimum any potential risk to the finance process and overall financial control environment.

Leadership and team approach

  • Act as a role model by consistently displaying behaviors that encourage productive working relationships and strong customer service culture.
  • Use influencing skills to develop and implement strategy, collaborating with others to achieve common goals.
  • Act as a change advocate, initiating, leading and managing change to ensure best practice throughout the team.

Does this sound like you?

We are interested in hearing from:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or related subjects
  • CA / CPA qualified
  • 5+ years relevant experience working with financial service organisation (superannuation, funds management or general wealth management experience preferred)
  • Solid experience in financial and management reporting, expense management and analysis, and financial control
  • Sound stakeholder management experience and skills
