Business Manager, Client Engagement, Global Markets


Your Business:

Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services.

Your Team:

Markets is a department of IB&M and is responsible for all of the Group’s activities in interest rate, bond, foreign exchange, credit, debt and commodity trading. This covers both physical and derivative markets; and Operational support function for Global Markets as well as other IB&M Departments.

Your impact & contribution:

Bring a strong customer focus to enable and implement strategies, systems and process to enhance client engagement across all Global Markets. You will be accountable for the delivery and implementation of products, processes, projects and strategies based on the needs of the Global Markets Sales business.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies that enhance and optimise the customer experience and increase efficiency across the Markets Business
  • Maintain Global Markets Sales products, processes and a business structure that make markets easy to navigate for our customers
  • Take responsibility for a portfolio of Global Markets Sales strategic & tactical initiatives
  • Drive accountability with business partners and support functions to ensure Global Markets Sales is adequately supported
  • Contribute to and assist with maintenance of the Global Markets Sales LT priorities list and forward agenda.
  • Assist with the monitoring of Global Markets Sales financials and ensuring that reporting remains accurate & relevant to business needs
  • When required, perform bespoke financial and business analyses that support MD & ED decision making processes
  • Work in partnership with the stakeholders across the value chain to achieve product, client and revenue outcomes.
  • Work with Executive Director Client Engagement to ensure strategic objectives shaped at management level are translated into business plans with mechanisms to monitor progress
  • Assist with the implementation of process changes that result from new regulatory requirements

Your experience and qualifications:

  • Significant experience in financial markets, financial services or other relevant corporate experience
  • Bachelor's degree minimum in a relevant discipline
  • AFMA accreditation would be beneficial
  • Professional qualifications or post graduate studies preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in working with and influencing a broad range of stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management & prioritisation experience/skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Strong industry and competitor knowledge
