Senior Environmental Scientist / Engineer

Our Environments practice is passionate about ‘Making Everyday Better’ through assisting our clients in finding practical and sustainable solutions in support of their organisational objectives. We deliver positive outcomes for our environment whilst developing healthier, more connected communities.

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Practitioner to join and grow our environmental team, with a primary focus in Victoria. This is the perfect opportunity for you to stay hands-on while building your leadership career and developing a team around you. This position requires someone with passion and energy to grow the team through market leadership, whilst managing environmental investigations, contaminated land assessments and remediation projects.

Joining a small team will require you to be versatile and happy to roll up your sleeves to deliver projects, work collaboratively across business lines, and be passionate about coaching less experienced staff.

Reporting to the Victorian Manager – Advisory you are responsible for:
• Leading the delivery of projects applying a client-centric, solutions-focussed approach;
• Developing and growing a small team of environmental professionals;
• Business development and maintaining excellent client relationships;
• Upholding our supportive, positive team culture.

About you

For success in the role, ideally you will have:
• A tertiary qualification in a related science or engineering field
• Good knowledge of VIC State & Federal Government legislation relating to land contamination and waste management (additional states desirable)
• Advanced professional understanding of environmental assessment and management
• Track record working with PFAS on linear infrastructure projects in Victoria
• An ability to build business and prepare tenders
• Eligibility for Australian Defence clearance
• A current driver's license.

Certification under either the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand’s Certified Environmental Practitioner (Site Contamination) scheme (CEnvP(SC)) or the Soil Science Australia Certified Professional Soil Scientist Contaminated Site Assessment and Management (CPSS CSAM) scheme (or demonstrable progress in achieving this qualification) would be a distinct advantage.
