Agile Insights Manager

The Customer Experience Division are responsible for the development of amazing customer experiences that matter, and oversee all customer strategy, service design, research, brand and marketing decisions across Bankwest.

About your role:

At a broad strategic level, the Agile Insights Manager drives the delivery of fast turnaround and actionable customer insights that will help Bankwest (BW) meet it's evolving customer experience objectives.

At an operational level, the Agile Insights Manager:

  • Overseas the management and continuous improvement of BW's agile insights capabilities (via the growth, optimisation, innovation and stakeholder engagement of BW's in-house online market research community panel)
  • Works extensively with stakeholders across all divisions of the bank, to understand their tactical business problems and knowledge gaps and map them against the most appropriate customer insights methodology.
  • Support BW colleagues with the right self-service capabilities & tools to undertake customer-centric innovation
  • Works with key stakeholders to prioritise projects and drives action, continuous improvement and ROI.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive the design and delivery of agile and actionable customer experience insights that help BW to get to 'best in class' Retail and Business customer experience and partnering with stakeholders to drive improvements
  • Drive the design & delivery of agile and actionable product & service design insights that help BW to get to 'best in class' Retail and Business products and services, and partnering with stakeholders to drive improvements
  • Proactively identify opportunities to continually refine & improve the agile customer research program & delivery of actionable insights to meet the evolving and expanding needs of BW. This involves overseeing & expanding the successful adoption of 'best in class' research techniques, human centred design & self-serve capabilities
  • The individual will be required to custom design agile ad hoc research projects, identify actionable insights, present results and influence decisions on the above topics amongst key stakeholders and leadership forums.
  • A talented individual will bring diverse experience and thinking that can inform development of new approaches to address BW's core objectives & influence key stakeholders to make better business decisions & optimise ROI
  • Role requires individual to identify, select and manage third party vendors in accordance with agreed budgets, target outcomes and Bankwest risk management policies and practices


We are interested to hearing from you if you have:

  • High level of intellectual curiosity, results driven orientation, project management & continuous improvement
  • Experience in quant/qual market research techniques, including methodology design, qna, analysis & reporting, with experience in panels, customer-centred design thinking, NPD & experimentation techniques an advantage.
  • High level of experience in translating data into information, information into insight and insight into action
  • A passion for customer-led and data-driven decision-making, integrating and exploring data relationships and seeking 'jewels of insight' across diverse data sources to drive effective business decision-making
  • A passion for championing a customer-centric culture by driving the 'voice of the customer' into decision-making
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills (esp. PowerPoint), and the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences, particularly through storytelling
  • Strong stakeholder and supplier management, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. Commerce, Business, Marketing/Design, Psychology) including exposure to market research theory, methodologies and basic mutivariate statistical techniques
  • Minimum 5+ years in the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies (experience in UX/CX research, research panel management, design thinking, new product development and/or experimentation desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data and information into piercing insights into pragmatic actions
