ESD Engineer

We are seeking an ESD Consultant to join our Sydney Built Environment team where you will be focused on providing a full range of ESD services to the building industry. We are growing our team and are looking for the right person to help us build our capability and help drive the future development of ESD within Aurecon. Both full or part-time applications will be considered as flexible work conditions are a core part of Aurecon’s work culture.

Your key responsibilities of the role are to provide

  • LEED, WELL and Green Star ratings
  • Advice on NABERS Energy and Water ratings
  • Advice related to regulatory compliance with schemes such as Section J
  • Project advice on best practice sustainable design
  • Building simulation for energy, thermal comfort, daylight, glare, natural ventilation and shading
  • Report writing
  • Simple financial evaluation of energy initiatives to determine viability and payback period

The expectation is that you will be able to

  • Engage with internal and external clients, and develop trusted relationships
  • Facilitate work-sharing across regions as required for projects
  • Coordinate and develop internal innovation initiatives
  • Manage own work, and have the capability to delegate tasks
  • Deal with schemes such as BCA Section J, Green Star, NABERS, LEED  or similar overseas equivalents to these

For this position you shall possess

  • A Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science or a related area
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Experience with building simulation software (IES preferred)
  • Strong communication skills with excellent time management & attention to detail
  • An aptitude for report writing and communicating technical ideas
  • An aptitude for complex analysis and problem solving
  • Experience and confidence in complex spreadsheet analysis
