About the position:

Are you a meticulous and proactive individual ready to play a vital role in our energy trading operations? We are seeking a detail-oriented Settlements Officer to ensure the accurate and timely settlement of diverse electricity trading and treasury activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and meticulously review standard and complex trading contract confirmations, ensuring strict adherence to contract terms.
  • Review counterparty contracts, verifying all critical details.
  • Champion the continuous improvement of our procedures through regular reviews and updates.
  • Become the go-to person for resolving counterparty invoice & documentation enquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Accurately reconcile daily futures trades and monitor liquidity.
  • Calculate, verify, and record all futures-related fees, charges, and P&L on a quarterly basis.
  • Manage weekly OTC billing, generating and dispatching invoices to counterparties.
  • Play a key role in treasury settlements, checking and approving a variety of transactions within the Reval Treasury system.
  • Provide crucial support for internal and external audit requests across both trading and treasury functions.
  • Maintain a keen awareness of trading patterns, proactively identifying and escalating any potential irregularities.
  • Partner with IT to identify and test system enhancements for our Snowy Hydro Trading System.

About you:

  • Proven experience in settlements, contract administration, or similar role (experience within the energy sector would be highly regarded).
  • A strong eye for detail and exceptional accuracy in handling complex data.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex contractual arrangements.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, enabling you to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn and navigate evolving systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with financial trading systems (experience with Reval or similar treasury systems would be highly regarded).
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suite (experience with advanced Sheets/Excel functions would be advantageous).
