As the Senior Environmental Advisor (Approvals), you’ll take the lead in driving the planning and delivery of critical post-approval permits, licences, and leases for Snowy 2.0. You'll play a key role in ensuring compliance by managing the ongoing review and enhancement of environmental management plans, turning complex approvals into streamlined success stories that keep this landmark project moving forward.
This position is based in Cooma, and candidates are encouraged to relocate, with Snowy Hydro offering a comprehensive relocation package. Alternatively, a FIFO 5:2 roster to Cooma is available for the right candidate.
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline, along with hands-on experience in environmental roles within mining, civil construction, utilities, or similar industries. You’re proactive, goal-driven, and have a sharp eye for detail. Your strength lies in communicating complex environmental concepts clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences. You’re decisive, innovative in problem-solving, and know when to seek collaboration. With a solid understanding of environmental legislation and compliance, you have experience working closely with regulatory authorities and excel at building strong, effective relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders
