An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Controller (Major Overhauls) to support the assurance and oversight of the scoping, planning and execution of Major Hydro Overhauls.

Reporting to the Outage Manager (Planning & Governance), this role will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Schedule Management process for Hydro Major Overhauls including documenting standard processes, tools, templates and plans.

Please note, this role is not FIFO or DIDO. This position is based in the Murray Region of Khancoban and requires the successful candidate to be based locally. Relocation packages available.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed and resource loaded master schedules in conjunction with all internal and contractor work leads.
  • Completing daily schedule status updates and modifications with the appropriate change control.
  • Monitoring schedule critical paths, earned value, milestones and risks against the baseline.
  • Developing, implementing, documenting and managing a Schedule Management and Cost Control process for Hydro Major Overhauls.
  • Developing and maintaining the standard project WBS structure and project budgets for Major Overhauls.
  • Overseeing cost control by reviewing project transactions for accuracy and applicability as well as performing regular re-forecasting.
  • Collaborating with the overhauls, outage and contracts leadership teams to identify areas of improvement opportunities.
  • Providing accurate and timely reporting across scheduling and cost control to relevant stakeholders.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering, project management, planning or scheduling discipline. (Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree).
  • Advanced MS Project skills are essential.
  • Computer skills in spreadsheets and Maintenance Systems (CMMS). Knowledge of Ellipse and Primavera is an advantage.
  • Shutdown, Overhaul, Major Outage or Turnaround experience strongly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience within a planning, scheduling and cost control position within an industrial project environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple work fronts in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management experience with the ability to manage multiple viewpoints.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
