Heavy Vehicle / Light Vehicle Automotive Mechanic


An opportunity has arisen to join the team at our Fleet Vehicle Centre located at Eight Mile Plains. RACQ’s fleet includes passenger vehicles plus light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles. In this position you will service and repair RACQ’s fleet vehicles, including pre-delivery and fit-out of new vehicles. You will also diagnose mechanical, auto electrical and engine management faults and fit communication equipment.

Duties

  • Service and repair of fleet and staff vehicles in accordance with RACQ fleet maintenance program, this can include passenger vehicles, light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles
  • Undertake fit-out and pre-delivery work on new vehicles including auto-electrical and electronic installation and parts fabrication as required
  • Install and regular maintenance of computer and telecommunications equipment
  • Maintain and repair workshop equipment as required
  • Compile and maintain service records and invoicing

About you

  • Qualified motor mechanic or related automotive trade
  • Dual trade or Qualified in auto electrical or diesel mechanic highly regarded
  • Heavy vehicle experience advantageous
  • Current and valid C Class drivers essential, MR/HR highly regarded
  • Able to apply a methodical and logical approach to performing diagnostic work
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive faults
  • Carry out work to a high standard and in a safe and timely fashion
  • Apply effective time management skills to daily duties
  • Able to complete pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screen and criminal record check
