Reporting to the Digital Product Design Lead, this Senior UX/UI Designer is responsible for crafting intuitive, engaging, and accessible digital experiences. Senior Product Designer
Reports to: Digital Product Design Lead

At HCF, we’re building a future where design drives better member outcomes. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our Digital Enterprise team someone who can bring quality, human-centered design to life and help elevate the role of design across the organisation.

In this role, you’ll lead the design of intuitive digital experiences that guide members through all kinds of journeys: finding and understanding the right products, making trade-offs and assessing value, accessing support, viewing details, lodging claims, and more. You’ll also play a key role in shaping how design is practiced at HCF contributing to our design system, supporting user testing, leading team rituals, and mentoring others. We’ll also invest in your own growth, with a career development plan tailored to the skills and specialisations you want to explore.

What you’ll do

  • Design Execution & Innovation
    • Lead the design of complex, high-visibility digital products that improve member experiences.
    • Simplify complex insurance processes and jargon into clear, usable experiences.
    • Create designs that are accessible and inclusive, meeting WCAG and other accessibility standards.
    • Contribute to our Design System with well-documented and organised components.
    • Use research and testing to inform and validate design decisions.
  • Collaboration & Strategy
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (Brand, Content, Legal, Risk, Product, Delivery and SMEs) to deliver seamless experiences.
    • Work closely with product managers and developers to ensure feasibility and quality implementation.
    • Actively participate in sprint planning and agile rituals.
  • Scaling Design at HCF
    • Advocate for the value of design and embed human-centered practices across the business.
    • Support the development of design and asset management systems across all digital touchpoints.
    • Shape design principles and ways of working that uplift the broader organisation.

What you bring

Essential

  • Proven expertise in human-centered design (UX/UI) across web and mobile platforms.
  • Experience simplifying complexity into intuitive user journeys.
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and applying them in design.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to advocate for design and influence stakeholders.
  • A bias for action, driving momentum and progress through design.

Desirable

  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Strong user research skills, from interviews to usability testing, A/B testing and journey mapping.
  • Knowledge of the international visitor experience in Australia, particularly around student and working visas, to help us design for this important audience.
