About the Role:
As a Graduate Research Analyst at Canstar, you will be at the forefront of developing and delivering Canstar’s flagship star ratings and industry awards that guide Australian consumers. This role is pivotal in supporting the overall success of the business, requiring a blend of analytical skill, creative problem-solving, and a forward-thinking approach to financial product analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Analysis and Comparison: Take part in the continuous evaluation of financial products, consumer behaviours, market dynamics, and regulatory landscapes to deliver our star ratings and awards methodologies.
  • Research Excellence: Uphold strong data quality standards and analysis to support research accuracy, employing Canstar's quality assurance processes to maintain the integrity of our ratings.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Join forces with teams across Canstar to undertake research projects that contribute to our strategic objectives. Communicate complex data insights in a clear and effective manner to a range of stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to projects focusing on improving processes and automation initiatives to streamline operations and enhance the delivery of star ratings and insights.
  • Dynamic Project Management: Coordinate and manage research activities, ensuring they are completed within set timeframes and to the highest quality standards.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Educational Background: A university degree in finance, economics, commerce, or a related field.
  • Analytical Mindset: A drive for dynamic problem solving and exceptional analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Excel are essential. Familiarity with SQL or Python is highly regarded but not required.
  • Proactive Communicator: Outstanding communication skills, capable of simplifying complex data for diverse audiences.
  • Adaptive Team Player: The ability to work both collaboratively within a team environment and independently, coupled with a strong willingness to learn.

  • Based in Brisbane you’ll be part of the Ratings Team within the Research and Product Data Department, reporting through to the Ratings Manager.
  • Our Ratings Team is recognised for its strong blend of expert product knowledge and technical skills. As a high-performing and driven team, we cultivate an environment where collaboration and creative problem-solving thrive.
  • As part of the Ratings Team, you'll have the opportunity to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adeptly translating complex data concepts into understandable insights. Additionally, you'll collaborate with various teams to understand the star ratings and award outcomes.
