About the position:

Through our Development Programs, we believe in supporting the next generation of business professionals, engineers and trades through education, career development and work experience.

We are looking for school leavers to join our team as Business Trainees in 2026, based in Cooma, NSW. A traineeship with Snowy Hydro is a unique opportunity to complete a Tertiary qualification whilst gaining real world, on-the-job experience.

To be a Snowy Hydro trainee, you will be someone who:

  • will finish Year 12 in 2025
  • has a strong desire to learn and a curiosity about how business works
  • is committed to furthering their skills and knowledge through workplace on-the-job learning and study
  • can ‘think outside the box', help the team problem-solve and bring new ideas
  • has a keen eye for detail, good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • is proactive, punctual and reliable
  • shares Snowy Hydro’s values of safety, teamwork, agility, decency, ownership and courage

As a trainee, you will:

  • be employed on a full-time 12-month contract and be paid to learn while expanding your knowledge and experience (adding valuable skills and experience to your CV)
  • upon successful completion of your course, have gained an accredited Certificate III in Business
  • be working with experts in their field, who will teach, mentor and support you through every step of your traineeship
  • build a supportive peer network with all levels within the business to share your ideas and experiences
