Sales Director – Global & Corporate

 

A core Client Segment within Aon Australia, Global & Corporate specialises in the provision of exceptional Insurance and Risk Management Services to a broad portfolio of National and top ASX listed businesses, including major multinational organisations.

As Sales Director, you’ll be critical to the success of our New Business strategy across the Global & Corporate division at Aon.

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Aon Melbourne office.

What the day will look like

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage and build a pipeline of New Business Leads e.g., large publicly listed, privately-owned, government or not-for-profit organisations domiciled here in Australia, across a range of industry sectors.
  • Build a deep knowledge of these leads, developing an understanding of the key enterprise risks and insurance market challenges they may face.
  • Build a strong understanding of Aon’s capabilities as Insurance Brokers & Risk Advisors, identifying how the firm may be best placed to assist the leads in pipeline.
  • Develop a targeted strategy for reaching out to leads and build a strong network of Aon colleagues, ensuring engagement to and with the right people to assist in these efforts.
  • Foster strong relationships with key decision-makers at the lead, by staying in regular contact (via email, phone, F2F meetings and events), identifying opportunities to bid for their business.
  • Ensure all activity with leads are recorded in our Sales Management system in a clear, accurate and consistent way
  • Demonstrate how your approach towards New Business aligns with our firm’s New Business strategy, industry vertical strategy and financial targets for the year.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Experience executive operating in the General Insurance, Financial and/or Professional Services sector.
  • High emotional intelligence and an ability to read the room.
  • Confident building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at a C-suite level.
  • A professional and persuasive way of speaking and writing.
  • Proficient and self-sufficient when using Microsoft Office and Adobe products.
  • A background leading, developing and knowledge sharing with others.
  • Experience managing a P&L, reporting on financial targets and/or estimating new business opportunities.
  • Experience learning, navigating and using Sales Management systems.
