Regional Director – QLD and NT

A unique and highly sought after position has become available to join Aon National’s leadership team. The QLD & NT Regional Director is a leadership role, both in QLD & NT and as part of the National Leadership Team where you will take responsibility for delivering sustainable growth opportunities and contributing to the overall National Plan. You will also have accountability for overall revenue and resourcing for National QLD and NT.

The National segment specialises in the provision of Aon client service delivery to mid market clients, generally serving the larger SME’s, Agri clients and mid to large private companies in Australia

We are looking for an experienced insurance professional with a strategic approach who will be responsible for exceptional client service and satisfaction across the portfolio, who will lead inclusively and apply all Aon company initiatives to be successful.

We have an extensive presence across Australia, with representation in each State capital and an extensive regional branch network.

What the day will look like

  • Management oversight of a combined portfolio of clients within QLD & NT
  • Collaborating with Client Retention Director, National Industry leaders, National Growth Leaders to manage and grow industry within QLD & NT
  • Develops and Implements segment strategies alongside the National leadership team, Head of National and Client retention Director and Growth Director to drive revenue growth and profit
  • Accountable for revenue performance and client profitability
  • Accountable for client service levels and satisfaction across the portfolio
  • Accountable for New/New sales with Business Development teams in QLD & NT and National Growth Leaders
  • Accountable for New/Existing solution line sales to meet targets, responsible for overall portfolio growth
  • Accountable for execution of Aon’s best practice operational standards in our Aon United Blueprint
  • Oversight of Aon matrix management and resolving any internal issues brought up within the segment
  • Align the People Strategy to the business strategy and ensure joint ownership by all People Leaders, including the following:
  • Goal setting and PMA reviews
  • Employee Engagement
  • Talent Review (inc. Succession plans)
  • Remuneration reviews
  • Development planning
  • Responsible for ensuring the state/region complies with Aon’s Risk Management processes and compliance with Aon’s policies

 

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Demonstrated ability in people leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability in client engagement, at senior levels
  • Business development experience (inc. application of BD project management principles)
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry (both local & global)
  • Entrepreneurial and an ability to drive consistency in a fast paced environment
  • Commercial mentality
  • High “EQ” and maturity levels
  • High levels of personal motivation and a strong work ethic
  • Strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Adaptability, resilience and flexibility
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Tier 1 compliance, PS146 qualifications are a must
