About the Role
As our Switchboard Operative, you’ll provide a professional, customer-oriented telephony service, ensuring every caller feels valued from the moment they connect. You’ll also represent Aon in the local and regional business community.
What You’ll Do
· Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
· Listen carefully to callers’ requests and route them correctly the first time.
· Keep staff extensions and department information up to date, so you can provide efficient service.
· Maintain confidentiality of colleagues’ contact details.
· Stay calm and use initiative to manage changing priorities.
· Communicate clearly and diplomatically with a diverse range of people.
· Escalate technical issues through the right channels.
· Support health, safety, and security procedures, and report any suspected phishing cases.
· Keep your work area tidy and provide management information as needed.
· Support the facilities management team with admin tasks when required.
What We’re Looking For
· A friendly, professional approach and exemplary customer focus.
· Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
· Previous customer service experience.
