Manager, Financial Governance - Institutional


  • Governance Manager within the Institutional Finance across financial and regulatory reporting

About The Role

Role Location: 100 Queen St, Melbourne VIC 3000, Australia

Role Type: 6-month fixed-term contract (potentially extendable)

Your role as the Manager, Financial Governance (Institutional) entails executing and leading an effective quality assurance (audit and monitoring) governance program across financial and regulatory reporting in Institutional to provide comfort to senior Finance management that controls are operating effectively to prevent a material financial or regulatory reporting error. You will perform activity to ensure Institutional remains compliant with ANZ Group Finance, operational and regulatory reporting policies and procedures and appropriately manages reporting risk. You will support the development of improvement initiatives aimed at driving operational excellence, strengthening controls and well managed practices, and initiatives to streamline, automate and simplify the activities of the governance program without compromising quality. You will help foster the use of technology including Data Analytics and Computer Aided Audit Techniques (CAATs) and Continuous Monitoring Verification to improve the efficiency of ongoing monitoring and testing of controls.

 
About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in a Business or Commerce related degree and professional Accounting qualification (CA or CPA or equivalent)
  • Markets or Institutional Banking experience
  • Experience in an Audit or Risk/Controls role in a large corporate or professional services setting
  • Experience with Data Analytics, Computer Aided Audit Techniques (CAATS) and Continuous Monitoring Verification (CMV)
  • Understanding of auditing and financial reporting practices
  • Knowledge gained through experience in financial reporting and analysis job streams (e.g. knowledge of credit risk, financial reporting processes and how information goes into the general ledger)
  • Business knowledge and acumen. Leading, negotiating and influencing skills
