As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a global framework that supports regional strategies and ensures consistently high compliance standards in the jurisdictions is which the bank operates. You will also be responsible for providing strategic compliance advice and solutions operating within regulatory parameters and meeting our regulatory obligations. You undertake this by understanding and evaluating our business and regulatory environment to ensure we understand and meet compliance obligations. You will apply contemporary compliance approaches, guidance and recommendations to ensure sustainable business growth. You will investigate, respond to and report on the effectiveness and appropriateness of our compliance measures and ensure the priority compliance-related issues have senior management attention and focus.


Within this role you will be key to managing the most material high-impact regulatory change globally affecting Global Markets. You will contribute to ANZ’s compliance with the recent and ongoing reform set by global regulators to promote financial stability, enhance transparency and prevent market abuse within the global derivatives market by ensuring an appropriate level of risk management is applied to key regulatory change and business initiatives.


You will provide compliance support to project teams facilitating ANZ’s response to regulatory reform, front office staff and enablement functions locally and across all major financial hubs including Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and London by identifying, monitoring regulatory change and advising on the impact to ANZ. Additionally, you will engage with industry colleagues and trade associations to collaboratively address regulatory change.

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Working knowledge of regulatory and legislative compliance principles and practices
  • Understanding of the underlying principles and key drivers of banking and markets related global regulatory reforms
  • Experience interpreting and advising on regulatory change; working with regulators on regulatory reform 
  • Experience implementing compliance frameworks
  • Well-developed communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels and effectively impart specialist knowledge and build capability in others
  • Legal qualification as well as masters level or Business/Commerce qualifications would be preferred
