Solution Manager Demand Response


The Solution Manager, Demand Response (DR) will lead the selection and implementation of technologies that support the sustainable growth of AGL’s Demand Response products across both Commercial and Industrial and Residential customer portfolios.

The Demand Response Team sit at the forefront of innovation and execute existing DR programs as well as identify new opportunities to ensure sustainable growth into the future.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Lead the development and implementation of a strategic roadmap for demand response technologies and partners across both the Commercial/Industrial and Residential customer portfolios.

Working across a complex and diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, this is a key role that enables the commercialisation and scalability of demand response products at AGL and will include:

  • Leading the implementation of real time monitoring of customer DR and developing automated solutions where feasible.
  • Scanning the market for new technologies and opportunities and actively maintaining relationships with key vendors and partners.
  • Working with the team to manage the ongoing operation of active programs and seeking customer feedback on current products to inform development of scalable portfolios.
  • Proactively networking with internal stakeholders across the wider business ensuring that the demand response technology roadmap is developed as an integrated AGL solution.
  • Provide ongoing strategic direction and support to the Demand Response Product Manager for the suite of Residential load control product opportunities.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Tertiary qualification(s) in relevant technical and/or business discipline
  • Requires a broad understanding of Australia’s energy market
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience building business cases
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to lead and devise product strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple and diverse stakeholders both internally and external to AGL (previous experience managing C&I customer relationships preferred)
  • A demonstrated ability to work at pace, prioritise and create focus to achieve successful outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to work across both traditional waterfall type project management techniques as well as agile and flexible product development techniques
