Finance Analyst-IT


Due to a recent internal move, we currently have an opportunity for a Finance Analyst, IT to join our Group Commercial Finance team based in Melbourne.

Reporting to the FP&A Manager Information Technology, the key purpose of the role is to partner with business stakeholders where required providing financial analysis to provoke change and support decision making.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Prepare business performance reporting for all IT divisions, including P&L, cashflow, capital spend & productivity projections
  • Analyze financial performance to understand key drivers and help the business deliver commercial objectives. This analysis will include a view of business risks and opportunities to ensure any issues can be addressed in a timely manner
  • Support the FP&A manager to develop corporate plans, shorter-term forecasts and budget which reports against actuals and focuses on improving forecast reliability
  • Support the FP&A manager to identify and implement financial system and process improvements
  • Work with the IT team to develop robust, commercial, financial models for various business initiatives to support informed investment decisions
  • Ensure appropriate financial processes and policies are adhered to, and delegations of authority understood and followed
  • Ensure all Corporate timetables, guidelines and requirements are met and communicated effectively with key stakeholders
  • Partner with Information Technology (IT) leadership teams and with finance colleagues (FR&A) to establish and ensure smooth running of the month-end process
  • Add value by acting with key stakeholders’ interest in mind, establishing

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • Strong BW/SAP Skills a preferred for application
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling
  • Experience with visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) will be highly regarded
  • Significant and demonstrated experience in a similar role with the ability to learn rapidly
  • Self-starter who can work autonomously and deliver high quality results
  • Detailed knowledge of business drivers and performance indicators
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence stakeholders at various work levels
  • Ability to understand, utilise and improve sophisticated accounting and reporting systems
  • Superior time management skills and ability to prioritise work. In this role, you will be exposed to a wide variety of stakeholders and business requests
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly communicate key messages to a range of stakeholders (finance and non-finance) without getting bogged down in detail, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and build/maintain strong working relationships
  • Business, Finance or Accounting degree and CA / CPA qualified
